Georgia livestock market summaryThe summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending March 14, showed receipts of 11,040 head, compared to 10,234 head last week and 12,697 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were $1 to $3 lower, bulls were $2 to $4 lower, feeder steers and steer calves were $2 to $4 lower, heifers and heifer calves were $1 to $3 lower, replacement cows were steady to $3 lower. The offering included 7% steers over 600 pounds, 30% steers under 600 pounds, 6% heifers over 600 pounds, 27% heifers under 600 pounds, 11% feeder cows, 7% slaughter cows, and 2% bulls.
