Vines named "Appraiser of the Year"Rural appraiser James B. "Nardie" Vine, ARA, and his wife, Lynda Perry Vine, were jointly recognized as the Appraisal Professional of the Year, Feb. 20 in San Diego, Calif., at the annual meeting of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Rabo AgriFinance and the ASFMRA sponsor the prestigious award which honors outstanding member achievement in the profession. Mr. Vine, a Texas A&M University graduate, has worked in the profession since 1969 and in his own business, Vine and Associates, since 1971. He and Lynda have their company offices in San Antonio, Texas. Lynda has been an active part of Vine and Associates since 1981. "Nardie" received his ARA designation from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers in 1986. In 1989, he earned his CRE designation from the American Society of Real Estate Counselors. And, in 2006, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. "Nardie" served as the ASFMRA president in 1997 and chairman of the Appraisal Foundation in 2004. Lynda has been very active in the Foundation Appraisers Coalition of Texas and serves as the organization's executive director. In 2006, Lynda was awarded the ASFMRA Gold Plow Award for having served the Texas Chapter of the ASFMRA for twenty years. 3/17/08 Date: 3/13/08 Advertisement
