Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,435 head March 10, compared to 1,113 head last week and 2,367 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $2 higher, feeder heifers were mostly steady. Stocker steer and heifer calves were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to good on all classes, better on quality cattle. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Receipts included 42% steers, 46% heifers, 12% bulls, with 25% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $3 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady, slaughter cows very plain along with softer demand seemed to be major factors. A total of 350 cows and bulls sold with 44% to packers.
