Texhoma cattle sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 4,423 head March 12, compared to 2,872 head last week and 4,791 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 lower. Steer calves were $2 to $4 lower in a limited test. Heifer calves were steady. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to gaunt, few full. The supply included 55% steers, 43% heifers with 88% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 88 cows and bulls sold with 77% going to packers.
