Presho feeder cattle reportThe Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 2,000 head March 6, compared to 2,475 head last week and 1,145 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 650 pounds sold steady to $2 lower. Feeder steers and heifers over 650 pounds sold mostly $5 to $7 lower. Buyer attendance was good with moderate to light demand. Quality and weigh-ups were not as attractive to buyers compared to last week's offering, sand ome consignments were carrying more flesh than the previous week. The supply was mostly offered in load lots. Steers comprised 48% of the run, heifers 52% with 81% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 17 head, 437 lbs., 138.00; 531 to 549 lbs., 125.50 to 135.00 (130.25); 560 to 588 lbs., 119.25 to 120.50 (119.46); 622 to 630 lbs., 117.75 to 121.00 (120.20) calves; 655 to 661 lbs., 105.25 to 110.75 (108.89); 710 to 721 lbs., 100.25 to 104.75 (102.92); 773 to 796 lbs., 95.00 to 98.25 (96.46); 810 to 832 lbs., 92.00 to 95.00 (94.64); 17 head, 903 lbs., 86.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 18 head, 602 to 641 lbs., 110.25 to 111.00 (110.76). Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 393 lbs., 127.00; 489 to 492 lbs., 121.00; 6 head, 507 lbs., 110.75; 554 to 562 lbs., 104.75 to 113.25 (108.97); 603 to 604 lbs., 107.00 to 108.50 (107.63); 653 to 697 lbs., 94.75 to 101.75 (97.80); 700 to 743 lbs., 91.85 to 95.10 (93.4); 55 head, 764 lbs., 89.25.
