Ourada retires as State Conservation Engineer

Kansas

John Ourada, state conservation engineer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service retired February 1, after 40 years of public service. He joined the Kansas NRCS staff at the Salina State Office in 1997 after working for NRCS in Minnesota where he began his career in 1967 as a student trainee.

Ourada was responsible for technical engineering standards and procedures for the conservation work done in the state through federal programs.

He graduated from South Dakota State University and Cornell University where he earned agricultural engineering degrees.

The NRCS provides products and services that enable people to be good stewards of the Nation's soil, water, and related natural resources on non-Federal lands.
