Newell sheep sales reportSt Onge Livestock Co., Ltd., Newell, S.D., reported receipts of 169 head March 6, compared to 1,056 head last week and 1,170 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Sheep trends were not applicable due to the light run. Receipts were comprised of about 70% feeder lambs and 30% slaughter ewes and bucks. Slaughter ewes: Utility 1 to 2, 7 head, 148 lbs., 21.50. Cull 1, 24 head, 125 lbs., 8.75. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 76 lbs., 108.00; 112 to 119 lbs., 89.25 to 91.00 (89.56). Slaughter bucks: 10 head, 238 lbs., 18.50 fleshy; 6 head, 197 lbs., 9.00 thin.
