Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., March 10, reported receipts of 173 head, compared to 2,533 head last week and 578 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, a feeder cattle trend was not applicable due to light receipts. Feeder cows sold mostly steady on a light test. Slaughter cows were not well tested. Slaughter bulls sold mostly steady on a light test. Demand was moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 14% of the offering, feeder cows 65% and feeders 17%. The feeder supply included 100% steers, with 100% of the run over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 720 lbs., 101.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 735 lbs., 96.50. Feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, heiferettes to 4 years old, 895 to 1100 lbs., 72.00 to 81.50; young, 900 to 1200 lbs., 57.50 to 62.00; middle aged, 1100 to 1350 lbs., 54.75 to 56.00; aged, 1050 to 1300 lbs., 47.00 to 52.00. Large frame 1, 1400 to 1550 lbs., 53.50 to 54.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1620 to 1705 lbs., 54.00 to 55.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1075 to 1330 lbs., 47.00 to 50.50; high dressing, 52.75. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1210 lbs., 44.25 to 46.00; low dressing, 42.00 to 43.00.
