Dodge City cattle sales report

Dodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 4,013 head March 5, compared to 4,909 head last week and 4,765 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, steers and heifers at 300 to 650 pounds were $2 to $4 lower, and 650 to 1000 pounds were $3 to $6 lower. Slaughter cows were steady to $2 lower with full decline on Boners. Slaughter bulls were firm to $2 higher. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 84% 600 pounds and over, 10% 600 pounds and under, 4% slaughter cows and bulls with 230 head, early.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 68.00 to 73.50; low dressing, 43.50 to 65.50.
