Colorado feeder cattle salesThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 7,750 head March 7, compared to 4,797 head last week and 7,800 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing under 500 pounds were steady to $1 higher, weights over 500 pounds were mostly $1 to $2 lower. Feeder heifers under 500 pounds sold $1 to $2 higher, and weights over 500 pounds were steady to $1 lower. Demand was moderate to good, with best demand on thin-fleshed feeders suitable for grass and replacement quality heifers. The supply was made up of 52% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 65% of the feeder supply over 600 pounds.
