Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 5,902 head March 12, compared to 5,302 head last week and 7,374 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Aberdeen, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold mostly steady to $1 lower, heifers 800 pounds and lighter sold steady to $2 higher, heifers over 800 pounds sold $1 to $2 lower. Steers comprised 62% of the run, heifers 38%, with 89% 600 pounds.
