Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Feb. 29, reported receipts of 1,318 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,955 head last week and 3,275 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Heavy weight slaughter lambs were not tested, light weights were steady. Stocker and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were $5 to $7 lower. Demand was good. The supply included around 40% sheep including nearly 250 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 125 lbs., 55.00 to 80.00. Barbados ewes, 70 to 90 lbs., 45.00 to 50.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 390.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Good and Choice 1 to 3, 50 to 85 lbs., 115.00 to 130.00, few to 140.00. Slaughter bucks: 150 to 200 lbs., 45.00 to 50.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 130.00 to 145.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 135.00 to 145.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 35.00 to 50.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 80.00 to 85.00.
