Dunlap cattle sales reportThe Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 2,890 head Feb. 29, compared to 968 head last week and 2,287 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special preconditioned feeder cattle sale. The sale featured many light cattle green enough to go to grass. Trade was active. Compared to the preconditioned sale two weeks ago, steers and heifers under 650 pounds were $2 higher, feeder cattle over 650 pounds were $2 lower. The quality was good and the cattle were in light flesh. Receipts included 58% feeder cattle over 600 pounds 47% heifers and 53% steers.
