Dodge City livestock sales reportDodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 4,909 head Feb. 27, compared to 2,773 head last week and 3,953 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 350 to 600 pounds were steady to $2 lower, 600 to 750 were steady to $2 higher, 750 to 900 pounds were $1 to $3 lower, and 900 to 950 pounds were $2 higher. Heifers at 350 to 650 pounds were steady to $3 higher, and 650 to 850 pounds were $1 to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were firm to $2 higher. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 74% over 600 pounds, 22% under 600 pounds and 4% slaughter cows and bulls with 177 early. The feeder supply consisted of 49% steers and 51% heifers.
