Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,966 head Feb. 28, compared to 2,115 head last week and 2,051 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 600 pounds were steady to strong, and over 600 pounds were steady to weak. Slaughter cows were $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady on a light test. Trade and demand were moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350- to 750-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 73% and slaughter cows and bulls 27%. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 70% of the run, heifers 30%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 22%.
