Colorado feeder cattle reportThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., Feb. 29, reported receipts of 4,797 head, compared to 5,383 head last week and 4,690 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, steer calves sold unevenly steady except on 500 to 600 pounds were $2 to $3 higher instances were $5 higher. Heifer calves sold steady to $1 higher, 500 to 550 pounds were $2 higher. Yearling steers sold unevenly steady. Yearling heifers sold steady to $3 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Increased buyer interest on cattle suitable for grass as well as feedlot ready cattle. The supply was made up of 56% feeder steers, balance feeder heifers, with about 60% of total feeder supply was over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 141.00 to 144.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 129.00 to 143.00, mostly 132.25 to 143.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 127.00 to 137.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 121.00 to 139.50, mostly 126.00 to 139.50; 550 to 600 lbs., 120.50 to 128.50; 600 to 650 lb. calves 108.00 to 122.00, mostly 111.00 to 122.00; 650 to 700 lb. calves 101.50 to 113.25; 700 to 750 lbs., 100.00 to 106.00, calves 99.50 to 107.00; 750 to 800 lbs., 97.00 to 103.75, calves 102.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 100.25 to 103.75, calves 95.00 to 95.50; 850 to 900 lbs., 93.50 to 98.75.
