Apache livestock sales report

Stockman's Livestock Inc., Apache, Okla., reported receipts of 7,013 head March 1, compared to 4,549 head last week and 7,088 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder cattle were $1 to $3 lower, with steers over 800 pounds and heifers over 750 pounds at the full decline. Stocker steers and steer calves were steady to $1 higher. Stocker heifers and heifer calves were steady to $2 higher. Demand was moderate to good for feeder cattle. Demand was good for grazing cattle. Several loads of nice cattle off wheat pasture in medium to fleshy conditions available. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Slaughter cows were steady to $2 lower, decline on lean cows. Slaughter bulls were $1 to $2 lower. A total of 322 cows and bulls sold with 52% going to packers.
