Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 5,302 head March 5, compared to 3,987 head last week and 5,780 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold mostly $3 lower. Heifers sold $1 to $4 lower. Demand was steady. Steers comprised 56% of the run, heifers 44%, with 95% over 600 pounds.
