Tulsa livestock market reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,959 head June 2, compared to 3,097 head last week and 2,605 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to two weeks ago, steer calves were $2 to $4 lower. Feeder steers were mostly steady to $1 lower. Heifer calves were steady to $1 lower. Few feeder heifers were steady. There was very good demand for feeders. Weigh-ups were mostly average, with few full. Receipts included 45% steers, 44% heifers, 11% bulls, with 24% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $2 lower with light weight lean cows were $3 to $5 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 404 cows and bulls sold with 49% going to packers. Several high quality Braford cross pairs and open cows were included and sold to very good demand.
