Tulia livestock sales reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 4,830 head June 2, compared to 6,317 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers were steady, except those over 800 pounds were $2 to $3 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400- to 1000-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 4% and feeders 96%. The feeder supply included 65% steers and 35% heifers, with nearly 83% of the run over 600 pounds.
