North Arkansas livestock auction reportThe North Arkansas Livestock Auction, Green Forest, Ark., reported receipts of 1,808 head June 4, compared to 1,539 head last week and 1,118 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows were $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were $1 lower. Feeder steers mixed with those at 350 to 400 pounds and over 600 pounds steady to $3 higher, and at 400 to 600 pounds $1 to $5 lower. Feeder heifers under 600 pounds were mostly $1 to $2 lower, and over 600 pounds were steady to $2 higher. The supply included about 905 feeder calves, 711 yearlings, 75 replacement or feeder cows including about 40 pairs, 61 slaughter cows, 14 slaughter bulls, and 2 replacement bulls. The feeder supply included about 44% over 600 pounds 49% steers, 3% Holsteins, 39% heifers, and 9% bulls. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 50.00 to 51.50; high dressing, 53.25 to 55.25. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 48.00 to 52.50; high dressing, 53.00 to 57.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 45.00 to 50.00; high dressing, 51.00 to 54.00; low dressing, 40.00 to 43.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 31.00 to 38.00; low dressing, 22.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 63.00 to 68.50; high dressing, 69.50 to 73.00.
