Lexington cattle sales reportThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 1,400 head May 30, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. No recent auction was available to make a market comparison. Demand and trade activity was moderate to good on predominately heifer offerings. Receipts consisted of 3% steers and 97% heifers with 91% of the total feeder cattle receipts weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 3 head, 403 lbs., 130.50; 6 head, 482 lbs., 128.25; 5 head, 573 lbs., 117.50. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 438 lbs., 115.50; 512 to 540 lbs., 114.00 to 116.25 (115.56); 4 head, 596 lbs., 116.00; 656 to 672 lbs., 112.50 to 116.50 (114.30); 706 to 743 lbs., 100.75 to 108.00 (107.57); 757 to 795 lbs., 103.10 to 111.00 (107.60); 56 head, 834 lbs., 103.85; 860 to 883 lbs., 99.50 to 102.50 (100.66); 103 head, 919 lbs., 101.00; 5 head, 1012 lbs., 94.35.
