Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, reported receipts of 2,472 head May 30, compared to 1,740 head last week and 3,586 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Light weight slaughter lambs were $8 to $10 lower, heavy weights were not tested. Stocker and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were steady. Demand was good. The supply included around 40% sheep including nearly 800 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 120 lbs., 60.00 to 75.00. Dorper bucks, 150.00 to 200.00 per head. Barbados ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 35.00 to 45.00. Barbados bucks, 80.00 to 150.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 90.00 to 105.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 130 lbs., 20.00 to 32.00. Slaughter bucks, 100 to 250 lbs., 35.00 to 50.00. Barbados lambs, 45 to 80 lbs., 85.00 to 100.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 120.00 to 130.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 120.00 to 135.00. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 110.00 to 120.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 118.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 30.00 to 45.00, thin 20.00 to 30.00. Billies, 100 to 200 lbs., 75.00 to 85.00.
