Faith cattle sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 495 head June 2, compared to 1,732 head two weeks ago and 750 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. A light run of feeder cattle were on offer, but there were not enough to develop an accurate trend when compared to two weeks ago. Trade was active with moderate demand. The feeder supply consisted of 15% steers, 85% heifers, with 31% weighing over 600 pounds. The total receipts consisted of 43% feeder cattle, 41% slaughter cows and bulls, and 16% replacement cows and bulls. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 660 lbs., 108.50. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 48 head, 518 lbs., 114.25; 20 head, 588 lbs., 109.50; 11 head, 680 lbs., 109.50; 6 head, 701 lbs., 108.00 yearlings; 7 head, 804 lbs., 101.25 yearlings. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1255 to 1585 lbs., 55.00 to 57.75; high dressing, 58.00 to 58.25; low dressing, 52.00 to 54.75. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1075 to 1505 lbs., 53.25 to 55.25; high dressing, 55.25 to 58.00; low dressing, 50.50 to 53.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 920 to 1375 lbs., 49.00 to 53.50; high dressing, 54.00 to 55.00; low dressing, 45.00 to 48.75. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1240 to 2515 lbs 63.00 to 68.00, high dressing, 69.25 to 76.00. Bullocks, 1143 to 1270 lbs 73.00 to 74.50. Pairs: Sold per pair, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young to middle-aged, package, 1230 lbs., with 250-lb. calves, 1450.00; middle-aged to aged, 1187 to 1200 lbs., with 200- to 220-lb. calves, 1010.00 to 1125.00; aged, 1470 to 1577 lbs., with 200- to 250-lb. calves, 960.00 to 985.00.
