Denison feeder cattle report

Tne Denison Feeder Cattle Auction, Denison, Iowa, reported receipts of 2,523 head May 29, compared to 1,803 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.

Compared to two weeks ago, comparable offerings of steer and heifers trended $4 to $7 higher with the greatest advance on the yearling cattle. Demand was outstanding for the very attractive feeders and stockers on offer. For the most part weigh-in and flesh scores were in the buyer's favor. Trading was active. Receipts included 75% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 58% heifers and 42% steers.
