Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 2,436 head May 29, compared to 2,014 head last week and 1,475 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were firm. Slaughter cows were steady to weak. Slaughter bulls were steady. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 200- to 650-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 20% of the offering, slaughter bulls 4%, replacement cows 19%, and feeders 57%. The feeder supply included 53% steers and 47% heifers, with nearly 21% of the run weighed over 600 pounds. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, four packages 234 to 298 lbs., 152.00 to 162.00, lot 224 lbs., pre-conditioned 175.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 131.00 to 139.00, package 320 lbs., 147.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 121.50 to 127.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 115.00 to 123.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 106.50 to 112.00; package 812 lbs., 104.50.
