Colorado feeder cattle sales

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 579 head May 30, compared to 852 head last week and 540 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 higher on a very limited test. Demand was good for all classes. Feeder cattle receipts continue to wane as several barns have concluded coverage until late summer/early fall. The supply was made up of 52% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 31% of the total feeder supply over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 240 lbs., 138.00; 270 lbs., 132.00; 325 lbs., 130.00; 420 to 440 lbs., 126.00 to 132.50; 470 to 490 lbs., 121.00 to 126.00; 530 lbs., 125.50; 550 lbs., 117.50; 730 lbs., 110.00; 780 lbs., 104.00 to 104.50; 810 lbs., 103.50; 910 lbs., 99.00; 950 lbs., 95.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 310 lbs., 126.00; 430 to 440 lbs., 113.00 to 118.00; 520 to 540 lbs., 112.00 to 117.00; 550 lbs., 116.00; 610 to 615 lbs., 107.50 to 112.50; 670 to 690 lbs., 103.00 to 106.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 220 lbs., 125.00; 430 to 440 lbs., 110.00 to 113.00; 470 to 490 lbs., 107.00 to 116.00; 500 to 530 lbs., 109.00 to 111.00; 660 lbs., 102.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 290 lbs., 115.00; 360 lbs., 112.00; 510 to 540 lbs., 101.00 to 109.50; 560 lbs., 103.00; 600 to 640 lbs., 95.00 to 106.00; 650 lbs., 91.00.
