Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 2,812 head June 4, compared to 3,270 head last week and 2,950 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold mostly steady, however 950 to 1000 weight steers sold $5 higher. Feeder heifers sold unevenly steady. Buyer demand was moderate to good. Steers comprised 47% of the run, heifers 53%, with 99% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 509 lbs., 120.00; 20 head, 658 to 685 lbs., 115.50 to 118.00 (116.02); 19 head, 711 lbs., 112.00; 753 to 776 lbs., 108.50 to 116.00 (109.62); 800 to 809 lbs., 105.00 to 110.25 (108.98); 863 to 891 lbs., 105.00 to 108.00 (107.66); 916 to 942 lbs., 103.00 to 107.90 (105.95); 9 head, 920 lbs., 100.00 fleshy; 954 to 996 lbs., 102.00 to 104.90 (104.20); 1005 to 1049 lbs., 99.25 to 102.10 (101.75); 8 head, 1065 lbs., 98.00; 1103 to 1119 lbs., 95.00 to 95.50 (95.11). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 533 lbs., 116.00; 11 head, 640 lbs., 114.00; 20 head, 664 to 693 lbs., 103.50 to 107.00 (105.28); 758 to 782 lbs., 96.00 to 105.00 (100.36); 9 head, 868 lbs., 96.75; 14 head, 1074 lbs., 87.50. Large frame 1, 7 head, 788 lbs., 99.00.
