Watertown cattle sales

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 775 head June 25, compared to 620 head last week, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Feeder steers were $1 to $2 higher compared to last week. There was a light test of feeder heifers. Feeder steers made up 96% of the sale, feeder heifers made up the remaining 4%, with 98% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 596 lbs., 127.00; 12 head, 705 lbs., 117.00; 854 to 875 lbs., 107.75 to 107.90 (107.82); 925 to 945 lbs., 103.75 to 106.80 (106.13); 989 to 997 lbs., 103.40 to 105.20 (104.19); 1002 to 1005 lbs., 105.20; 58 head, 1058 lbs., 100.10; 1122 to 1137 lbs., 97.40; 5 head, 1203 lbs., 95.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 645 lbs., 116.00; 8 head, 721 to 734 lbs., 105.00 to 108.00 (106.89); 5 head, 954 lbs., 99.00; 19 head, 1013 to 1040 lbs., 97.50 to 99.00 (98.12); 11 head, 1198 lbs., 91.75; 12 head, 1216 lbs., 90.75.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 1011 to 1031 lbs., 64.50 to 67.75 (65.96); 14 head, 1152 lbs., 73.10 fancy.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 566 lbs., 106.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 663 to 686 lbs., 95.00 to 96.00 (95.42); 10 head, 988 lbs., 93.00.
