Tulia livestock sales reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,002 head June 23, compared to 2,387 head last week and 2,446 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $2 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 higher. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400- to 1000-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 4% of the offering, replacement cows less than 1%, and feeders 95%. The feeder supply included 70% steers and 30% heifers, with nearly 72% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
