Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 275 head June 25, compared to 1,350 head last week and 326 head last year, according to the USDA to Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, no test on feeders steers or calves, Limited test on feeder heifers. Fill was average. Demand was good for all classes. Supply included 23% steers, 72% heifers with 66% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 higher. A total of 107 cows and bulls sold with 88% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 460 lbs., 113.00. Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 393 lbs., 116.00. Small and medium frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 404 lbs., 115.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 423 lbs., 105.50; 32 head, 793 lbs., 99.50. Medium and large frame 2, 24 head, 688 lbs., 101.50. Medium and large frame 3, 5 head, 720 lbs., 93.00; 5 head, 775 lbs., 94.50.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 2 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 61.00; low dressing, 53.00. Boners, 21 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1400 lbs., 56.50 to 58.00; high dressing, 60.00 to 64.00; low dressing, 54.50. Lean, 55 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 54.50 to 56.50; high dressing, 57.00 to 60.00; low dressing, 50.00 to 53.00. Light, 3 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1000 lbs., 43.00 to 46.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 15 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 70.50 to 75.00; high dressing, 76.00 to 79.00; low dressing, 63.00 to 68.50; very high 85.50.
