Springfield livestock salesThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,483 head June 18, compared to 1,983 head last week and 2,511 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers were $1 to $5 higher, Holsteins were $1 to $3 lower, with the exception of 800 weights, which were steady to $5 higher. Heifers were steady to $2 higher. Demand was moderate to good and supply moderate. Most of the weigh-ups were favorable to buyers. The offering included a consignment of five loads of black-hided yearling steers. A Special Wean-vaccinated sale was held in conjunction with the regular feeder cattle sale. The feeder supply included 43% steers, 22% Holsteins, 28% heifers, 7% bulls, with 60% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 450 to 475 lbs., 125.00 to 127.00; 525 to 600 lbs., 115.50 to 118.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 110.00 to 121.00, calves 102.25 to 117.00; 700 to 755 lbs., calves 100.50 to 108.00, load 792 lbs., 111.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 107.75 to 110.25.
