North Arkansas livestock auction reportThe North Arkansas Livestock Auction, Green Forest, Ark., reported receipts of 1,681 head June 25, compared to 2,062 head last week and 840 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were $4 higher. Feeder steers were uneven, generally steady to $4 higher. Feeder heifers were steady to $2 higher. The supply included about 899 feeder calves, 599 yearlings, 60 replacement or feeder cows, 111 slaughter cows, 12 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply included about 40% over 600 pounds, 49% steers, 1% Holsteins, 44% heifers, and 6% bulls. Prices follow with weighted average price in parenthesis. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 50.00 to 52.00; high dressing, 53.00 to 55.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 49.00 to 53.50; high dressing, 54.00 to 62.50; Individual 64.00.
