High Plains slaughter news

High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending June 22, totaled 173,638 head, compared to 188,807 head last week and 134,572 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 2,464 head, 1,275 to 1,450 lbs., 92.00 to 95.00 (93.90); 65 to 80% Choice, 8,213 head, 1,150 to 1,475 lbs., 92.00 to 96.00 (94.24); 35 to 65% Choice, 26,434 head, 1,100 to 1,470 lbs., 92.00 to 96.00 (95.15); 0 to 35% Choice, 874 head, 1,175 to 1,375 lbs., 94.50 to 96.00 (95.39).
