Grain bids mixedWheat and soybean bids were lower, while corn and sorghum was up slightly June 23, according to the National Grain Market Summary. Wheat was mostly lower in reaction to improve harvest conditions in the winter wheat region. Corn saw gains due to higher crude oil. Soybeans were pressured by the higher dollar and less tension in the Argentina's farmers strike. Wheat was mostly 6 to 11 cents lower. Corn was 2 to 3 cents higher. Sorghum was 5 to 6 cents higher. Soybeans were 15 to 18 cents lower. Grains inspected for export for week ending June 19: Wheat totaled 17.7 million bushels, up 2.1 million bushels; corn 36.7 million bushels, down 3.3 million bushels; sorghum 1.4 million bushels, down 200 thousand bushels and soybeans 10.8 million bushels, down 3.7 million bushels compared to a week ago. Year to date: Wheat totaled 50.1 million bushels up 7.2 million; corn 1952.0 million bushels up 276.3 million; sorghum 248.5 million bushels up 130.9 million and soybeans 1004.6 million bushels down 7.5 million. Crop marketing years begin June 1 for wheat and September 1 for corn, sorghum, and soybeans. In the futures close, Kansas City July wheat was $9.04, down 11 cents. Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $8.74, down 11 cents; Minneapolis, $10.99, down 6 cents; Portland was unavailable; St. Louis, $6.56, up 14 cents. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.07 to $7.08, up 3 cents; Minneapolis, $6.56 1/4, up 3 cents; southern Iowa, $6.64 1/4 to $6.71 1/4; Omaha, $6.86 to $6.88, up 3 to 2 cents. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.80, down 18 cents; Minneapolis, $14.54, down 17 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $14.70 to $14.74; central Illinois processors, $15 to $15.17, down 17 1/2 to 15 1/2 cents. Kansas City wheat prices June 24, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $9.14 1/2 to $10.99 1/2, up 5 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $10.84 1/2 to $10.99 1/2, up 5 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $10.84 1/2 to $10.99 1/2, down 4 1/2 to 39 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $10.84 1/2 to $10.99 1/2, down 44 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was $8.44 1/2 to $8.79 1/2, up 5 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $7.01 to $7.10, unchanged. 6/30/08 Date: 6/24/08
