Goldthwaite sheep sales

The Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, June 20, reported receipts of 2,329 head of sheep and goats, compared to 2,422 head last week and 2,642 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Light weight slaughter lambs were $8 to $10 lower, heavy weights were not tested. Stocker and feeder goats were $10 to $15 lower. Slaughter goats were $20 to $25 lower. Demand was moderate. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 400 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified.

Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 125 lbs., 30.00 to 65.00, few ewe lambs 60 to 80 lbs., 76.00 to 86.00. Dorper bucks, 100.00 to 125.00 per head. Barbados ewes, 60 to 85 lbs., 25.00 to 40.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 220.00 per head.

Slaughter lambs: Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 70.00 to 84.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 130 lbs., 28.00 to 40.00. Barbados, lambs, 40 to 80 lbs., 60.00 to 70.00.

Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 79.00 to 88.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 80.00 to 89.50. Selection 2, 60 to 80 lbs., 75.00 to 80.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 25.00 to 35.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 59.00 to 70.00, few light weights 80.00 to 84.00. Muttons, Selection 1, 80 to 120 lbs., 80.00 to 90.00.

Replacement goats: Nannies, Selection 1, few 50 to 60 lbs., fancy nanny kids 100.00. Selection 2, 80 to 125 lbs., 40.00 to 65.00. Billies, Selection 1, 100.00 to 200.00 per head.

Stock and feeder goats: 30 to 45 lbs., 60.00 to 75.00.
