Denison feeder cattle sales

The Denison Feeder Cattle Auction, Denison, Iowa, reported receipts of 2,701 head June 19, compared to 1,802 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.

This was a special feeder cattle sale. The auction featured mainly yearling cattle, no comparisons due to no recent sale, but a higher undertone was noted. Receipts included 84% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 46% heifers and 54% steers.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 4 head, 375 lbs., 128.00; 5 head, 410 to 433 lbs., 116.00 to 121.00 (118.07); 18 head, 505 to 536 lbs., 119.00 to 120.00 (119.50); 6 head, 546 lbs., 114.00 full; 560 to 594 lbs., 114.00 to 115.00 (114.49); 602 to 616 lbs., 110.00 to 115.00 (113.56); 651 to 684 lbs., 109.00 to 112.25 (111.00); 15 head, 701 to 741 lbs., 104.50 to 106.00 (105.05); 3 head, 928 lbs., 100.00.
