Annual directory lists farmers' markets across the stateColorado Days are getting longer and the weather is warming, signaling the start of summer and the farmers' market season in Colorado. To help consumers find farmers' markets, roadside stands, u-picks, wineries and agritourism activities, the Colorado Department of Agriculture annually publishes the Colorado Farm Fresh Directory. "The Farm Fresh Directory is the perfect tool for people looking to buy local food and agricultural products," said Wendy White, marketing specialist for the Colorado Department of Agriculture. "This guide continues to be our most popular publication." The free directory lists 82 farmers' markets across Colorado and features information on county fairs, food and agricultural festivals, and tips for picking Colorado produce. Farm Fresh also includes farms that offer tours, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, farm and ranch vacations, and a crop calendar. The 2008 Colorado Farm Fresh Directory is available for free at participating libraries, chambers of commerce, welcome centers, visitor centers, CSU Extension offices, Denver Botanic Gardens and other businesses. The directory is also accessible online at www.coloradoagriculture.com. The directory is sponsored by The Alliance Marketing Group, Colorado Apple Administrative Committee, Colorado Farmers' Market Association, Colorado Fresh Markets, Colorado Milk Marketing Board, Colorado Wine Industry Development Board, Delta County Tourism, Metro Denver Farmers' Market, Miller Farms, Rock Creek Farm and Royal Crest Dairy. Farm Fresh is also sponsored by Colorado State University through grants from CSU-Extension, the Western Center for Risk Management Education, and the Western Region Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program.
