Amarillo livestock sales reportThe Amarillo Livestock Auction, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 755 head June 24, compared to 1,063 head last week and 790 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $3 higher on a limited test. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher on a limited test. Slaughter bulls not enough for a market test. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 200- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Trade and demand were moderate to good. Slaughter cows made up 4% of the offering, slaughter bulls less than 1/2% replacement cows 2% and feeders 93%. The feeder supply included 60% steers and 40% heifers, with nearly 39% of the run over 600 pounds.
