Tulsa livestock sales report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,816 head June 16, compared to 2,419 head last week and 1,845 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, all classes of cattle were steady to $3 lower with a light test of feeder steers and heifers. Weigh-ups were average to full. Demand for all classes of cattle was moderate to good. The supply included 43% steers, 40% heifers, 16% bulls and 29% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bull were steady. Packer demand was good. A total of 298 cows and bulls sold with 45% going to packers.

Light, 27 head, 85 to 90% lean, 855 to 995 lbs., 45.00 to 48.50; high dressing, 49.50 to 52.50; low dressing, 43.00 to 44.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 14 head, 1490 to 2150 lbs., 67.50 to 69.50; high dressing, 72.50; low dressing, 61.50 to 65.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1 to 4 years old, 795 to 980 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, average quality, 740.00 to 895.00; 5 to 6 years old, 1050 to 1210 lbs., 5 to 6 months bred, average quality, 740.00 to 835.00; 10 years old, 1075 to 1145 lbs., 5 months bred, average quality, 640.00 to 710.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1 to 4 years old, 700 to 1200 lbs., 60- to 200-lb. calves, average quality, 890.00 to 1010.00; 6 years old, 950 to 1200 lbs., with 90- to 100-lb. calves, average quality, 900.00; 8 to 10 years old, 800 to 1200 lbs., with 100- to 190-lb. calves, average quality, 870.00 to 960.00.
