Texhoma livestock auction report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,350 head June 18, compared to 850 head last week, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, no recent sales to test trends on feeder steers and heifers. Steer and heifer calves not well tested. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average. The supply included 64% steers, 32% heifers with 83% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 275 cows and bulls sold with 50% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 314 lbs., 136.00; 7 head, 466 lbs., 123.50; 11 head, 569 to 583 lbs., 110.50 to 112.00 (110.78); 5 head, 646 lbs., 110.50 calves; 90 head, 661 lbs., 112.50; 139 head, 739 lbs., 110.00; 766 to 768 lbs., 108.50 to 109.10 (109.01); 9 head, 944 lbs., 94.25; 19 head, 974 lbs., 94.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 652 to 698 lbs., 108.50 to 110.00 (109.30). Medium and large frame 2, 566 to 581 lbs., 105.00 to 109.50 (108.77); 5 head, 783 lbs., 102.00. Small and medium frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 379 lbs., 125.50; 7 head, 516 lbs., 115.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 436 lbs., 117.50; 17 head, 539 lbs., 111.25; 6 head, 613 lbs., 104.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 342 lbs., 114.50; 16 head, 426 lbs., 112.25; 11 head, 543 to 548 lbs., 102.50; 9 head, 733 lbs., 97.50; 203 head, 773 lbs., 98.00 fleshy; 7 head, 893 lbs., 93.00. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 355 lbs., 110.50; 5 head, 728 lbs., 97.00. Small and medium frame 1 to 2, 8 head, 514 lbs., 107.00.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 58 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1400 lbs., 55.00 to 56.00; high dressing 57.00 to 60.50; low dressing, 50.50 to 54.25. Lean, 64 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 51.50 to 54.75; high dressing, 56.00 to 59.25; low dressing, 48.50 to 50.50. Light, 7 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1000 lbs., 44.00 to 46.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 8 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 68.00 to 73.00; high dressing, 75.50; low dressing, 64.00 to 66.50.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 3 years old, 1050 to 1100 lbs., with 250- to 400-lb. calves, high blacks, 1450.00 to 1460.00; 2 to 3 years old, 950 to 1000 lbs., with 100- to 275-lb. calves, average quality, 1125.00 to 1220.00; 4 to 5 years old, 1250 to 1275 lbs., with 250- to 400-lb. calves, high blacks, 1490.00 to 1500.00; 5 years old, 1225 lbs., with 150- to 300-lb. calves, average quality, 1075.00; 6 to 7 years old, 1050 to 1225 lbs., with 175- to 250-lb. calves, average blacks, 950.00 to 980.00; 8 to 9 years old, 1100 to 1200 lbs., with 100- to 200-lb. calves, average blacks, 900.00 to 910.00; 8 to 9 years old, 1000 to 1125 lbs., with 100- to 250-lb. calves, average quality, 880.00.
