Texas juniors parade champions at state showTexas Angus youth led 142 entries at the 2008 Texas Junior Angus Association State Show, June 8 in Brenham, Texas. Brett Barber, Channing, Texas and Terri Barber, Greenfield, Ind., evaluated the 90 owned females, 17 bred-and-owned females, 11 bred-and-owned bulls, 18 cow-calf pairs, and six steers before selecting champions. DAJS Vincent 408 claimed the grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, owns the March 2007 bull sired by Champion Hill Edition 2029. Reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors went to Wells Comache 87W. Wade Wells, Hamilton, Texas, owns the October 2007 son of B C Marathon 7022. Sedgwicks Ruby 5325 was named grand champion owned female after capturing the senior champion title. Stephanie Lastovica, Salado, Texas, owns the October 2006 daughter of Lemmon Newsline C804. DAJS Trixie 287 claimed reserve grand champion owned female honors. The March 2007 daughter of DAJS The Matrix 008 is owned by Katy Satree. She first won junior champion. Wade Wells led Wells Emily 117W to the grand champion bred-and-owned female title. The October 2007 daughter of S A V Peacemaker 3179 first won calf champion. DAJS Diana 212 was selected reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning junior champion. Katy Satree owns the March 2007 daughter of Champion Hill Edition 2029. Tarlton Holloway, Stamford, Texas, exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. T M H Ms Big Ribeye 623 is a March 2006 daughter of Hales Big Ribeye 4102. A March 2008 heifer calf sired by S S Objective T510 0T26 completes the winning pair. T Bar N Madge 0413 claimed reserve grand champion cow-calf pair honors. Tylee Williams Lockney, Texas owns the April 2004 daughter of Dajs Drover L111. Her calf is an April 2008 daughter of NSF Minnesota Fats R14. Wells Primo 17W was named grand champion steer. Wade Wells owns the February 2007 son of S A V 8180 Traveler 004. Katy Satree claimed reserve grand champion steer honors with DAJS Owen 410.
