North Arkansas livestock sales reportThe North Arkansas Livestock Auction, Green Forest, Ark., reported receipts of 2,062 head June 18, compared to 1,237 head last week and 1,716 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service, Green Forest, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. Feeder steers and bulls were mixed, under 550 pounds were $1 to $4 lower, steers over 550 pounds were mostly steady to $1 higher. Feeder heifers under 650 pounds were $3 to $8 lower with full decline on calves, over 650 pounds were steady to $3 lower. The supply included about 1021 feeder calves, 710 yearlings, 120 replacement or feeder cows including about 50 pairs, 150 slaughter cows, 10 slaughter bulls, 1 replacement bulls. The feeder supply included about 41% over 600 pounds, 50% steers, 1% Holsteins, 40% heifers, and 9% bulls. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 46.00 to 50.00; high dressing, 51.50 to 55.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 47.00 to 52.00; high dressing, 52.50 to 60.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 44.00 to 50.00; high dressing, 50.00 to 56.00; low dressing, 35.00 to 43.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 34.00 to 40.00; high dressing, 42.00 to 50.00; low dressing, 20.00 to 30.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 60.00 to 67.50; high dressing, 67.75 to 73.00; low dressing, 55.00 to 57.00.
