Georgia livestock sales summary

The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending June 13, totaled 11,378 head, compared to 11,538 head last week and 13,590 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga.

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were $1 to $3 lower, bulls were $1 to $2 lower, feeder steers were $3 to $6 lower, heifers were $2 to $4 lower, steer calves were $2 to $5 lower, heifer calves were $3 to $5 lower, replacement cows were steady to $2 higher. The offering included 7% steers over 600 pounds, 35% steers under 600 pounds, 5% heifers over 600 pounds, 27% heifers under 600 pounds, 8% feeder cows, 16% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
