Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 374 head June 16, compared to 495 head two weeks ago and 976 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. A light run of feeder cattle were on offer, but not enough for a market test. The bulk of the supply consisted of slaughter cows and bulls. Slaughter cows sold lower, breaking and boning cows traded $1 to $2 lower, lean cows, $4 lower. Demand was moderate. Slaughter bulls sold steady. The supply consisted of 4% feeders, 21% cow to calf pairs, and 85% slaughter cows and bulls. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1110 to 1845 lbs., 53.00 to 56.00; high dressing, 56.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 49.00 to 49.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1125 to 1625 lbs., 51.50 to 55.00; high dressing, 55.00 to 57.00; low dressing, 45.00 to 50.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 905 to 1350 lbs., 45.00 to 49.50; high dressing, 50.00 to 53.50; low dressing, 42.00 to 44.25. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1115 to 2330 lbs., 62.50 to 67.50, high dress 68.50 to 71.00, low dress 61.00 to 62.00. Pairs: Sold per pair, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young package 1325 lbs., with 235-lb. calves 1470.00; middle aged, package 1410 lbs., with 270-lb. calves 1160.00; aged, 1160 to 1155 lbs., with 230- to 250-lb. calves 1025.00 to 1060.00. 6/23/08 Date: 6/19/08
