Ericson livestock sales report

The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 1,200 head June 14, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.,

There were not enough receipts to establish a trend from the previous sale. Demand was good for 600-pound steers, as well as young cow-calf pairs and fall calvers. Receipts consisted of 42% feeders and 58% replacement females. The offerings of feeders, included 48% steers and 52% heifers, with 67% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 446 lbs., 124.50; 525 to 539 lbs., 125.00 to 126.50 (125.31); 613 to 619 lbs., 122.00 to 124.00 (122.74); 7 head, 691 lbs., 107.50; 603 to 745 lbs., 106.50 to 120.00 (110.08).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 22 head, 541 lbs., 112.50; 5 head, 568 lbs., 109.50; 9 head, 648 lbs., 111.00; 678 to 686 lbs., 104.00 to 108.50 (106.24); 22 head, 710 lbs., 106.25; 19 head, 776 lbs., 100.50; 45 head, 957 lbs., 90.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 412 lbs., 115.00; 8 head, 502 lbs., 109.00; 14 head, 590 to 592 lbs., 90.50 to 103.00 (97.65).

Bred cows: Medium and large frame 1, young, 1113 to 1196 lbs., 1000.00 to 1135.00 (1104.83); 1201 to 1296 lbs., 1095.00 to 1120.00 (1114.05). Medium and large frame 1, middle-aged, 20 head, 1177 lbs., 1080.00; 1254 to 1271 lbs., 935.00 to 1035.00 (996.66). Large frame 1, young, 4 head, 1198 lbs., 1120.00; 18 head, 1303 lbs., 1120.00. Large frame 1, middle-aged, 1288 to 1447 lbs., 995.00 to 1110.00 (1082.67).

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, young, 14 head, 1174 lbs., 1450.00; 1335 to 1344 lbs., 1110.00 to 1450.00 (1324.80). Medium and large frame 1, middle-aged, 13 head, 1298 to 1461 lbs., 1030.00 to 1210.00 (1107.82). Medium and large frame 1, aged, 1266 to 1334 lbs., 910.00 to 1140.00 (1066.52).
