Dunlap feeder cattle sale

The Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 1,968 head June 13, compared to 1,802 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.

This was a special feeder cattle sale. All the rain and a 90-cent raise in the cash corn market for the week had the feeder cattle trading fully steady to three weeks ago. There was a small crowd on hand. Demand was good. Receipts included 43% steers and 57% heifers with 75% feeder cattle over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 365 to 383 lbs., 134.00 to 138.00 (137.23); 458 to 489 lbs., 123.00 to 130.50 (128.07); 503 to 545 lbs., 123.00 to 127.50 (125.90); 550 to 577 lbs., 119.00 to 124.00 (121.96); 606 to 635 lbs., 115.00 to 117.25 (116.00); 658 to 669 lbs., 113.75 to 118.75 (115.64); 718 to 734 lbs., 110.25 to 112.75 (111.64); 767 to 795 lbs., 108.00 to 111.25 (109.43); 775 to 784 lbs., 103.50 to 104.75 (104.60) fleshy; 807 to 821 lbs., 107.50 to 112.00 (110.93); 855 to 889 lbs., 101.60 to 108.90 (104.25); 10 head, 856 to 860 lbs., 95.00 to 99.00 (97.40) fleshy; 928 to 945 lbs., 99.30 to 103.20 (102.50); 979 to 982 lbs., 96.25 to 98.50 (97.21); 1066 to 1091 lbs., 94.00 to 98.50 (97.72).
