Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,722 head June 12, compared to 1,380 head last week and 1,449 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were generally steady, and some 500- to 700-pound heifers were $2 to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to strong. Trade and demand was moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 225- to 850-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 19% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, replacement cows 2%, and feeders 78%. The feeder supply included 41% steers and 59% heifers, with nearly 35% of the run over 600 pounds. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 157.00 to 162.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 138.00 to 145.00, package 301 lbs., 150.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 118.00 to 122.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 116.00 to 120.00, package 540 lbs., 122.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 108.00 to 112.00, package 615 lbs., gaunt 117.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, lot 265 lbs., pre-conditioned 128.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 124.00 to 129.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 110.00 to 112.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 104.00 to 106.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 101.00 to 103.00. Medium and large frame 2, 500 to 600 lbs., 97.00 to 101.00. Medium and large frame 2, package 638 lbs., 95.00. Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1100 to 1600 lbs., 57.00 to 59.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 55.50 to 59.00; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 53.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 48.50 to 50.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1400 to 2000 lbs., 64.00 to 76.50; high dressing, 2100 to 2200 lbs., 77.00 to 83.25.
