Colorado feeder cattle report

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 1,501 head June 13, compared to 2,076 head last week and 1,208 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold were mostly steady. Yearling feeder steers were lightly tested however a firmer undertone was noted. Demand was good with greatest interest for yearling feeder steers. Many barns have concluded coverage until late summer and fall. Coverage may begin sooner if dry conditions persist. The supply was made up of 42% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 45% of total feeder supply was over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1 325 lbs., 129.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 123.00 to 125.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 120.00 to 127.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 121.00 to 136.00, mostly 121.00 to 129.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 118.00 to 122.00; 750 to 800 lbs., 103.00 to 129.00; 835 lbs., 100.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 365 lbs., 129.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 114.00 to 124.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 117.50 to 121.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 112.00 to 115.50; 550 to 600 lbs., 110.00 to 114.50; 600 to 650 lbs., 107.50 to 115.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 103.00 to 109.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 95.50 to 110.00; 950 to 1000 lbs., 90.00 to 92.25.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 360 lbs., 116.00 to 120.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 111.00 to 114.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 108.50 to 110.50; 550 to 600 lbs., 109.00; 675 lbs., 107.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350 to 400 lbs., 111.50 to 112.50; 400 to 450 lbs., 106.00 to 111.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 105.00 to 112.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 100.00 to 111.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 100.00 to 107.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 98.50 to 108.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 96.00 to 103.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 105.00 to 106.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 92.50 to 96.75; 875 lbs., 96.00.
