Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 4,689 head, May 22, compared to 6,248 head, last week and 2,760 head, last year, according to the USDA-Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 800 to 1000 pounds were firm to $1 higher, heifers at 800 to 950 pounds were steady to $2 higher, and steers and heifers at 800 pounds and under were not enough for a market test but limited sales were steady. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. Receipts included 91% 600 pounds and over, 3% 600 pounds and under, 6% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 67% steers and 33% heifers.
